From Kisarazu, get off at Oamishirasato Smart IC on Ken-O Expressway and turn right, or get off at Mobara Kita IC and turn left toward Doke

Showa no Mori is located in the Doke district of Midori-ku, about 18 km southeast of the city center. With an area of 105.8 ha, 2.3 km north-south and 0.8 km east-west, it is the largest comprehensive park in the city and one of the largest in the prefecture.
The west side of the park is connected to the Shimofusa Plateau, which is 60 to 90 meters above sea level, and the east side is bordered by the sea cliffs （ with a height difference of about 50 meters separating the Kujukuri Plain and the Shimofusa Plateau ）. From the observatory （ 101m above sea level ）, you can see the Kujukuri Plain and the horizon of the Pacific Ocean.
A part of the park is designated as a Prefectural Kujukuri Nature Park, and since a good natural environment is preserved, many kinds of plants and creatures such as flowers, trees, wild birds and insects can be seen throughout the four seasons. In 1989, the park was selected as one of the "100 Best Urban Parks in Japan" as one of the representative parks in Japan.
